
The books from our Book Blast event in February were delivered to PreK-6 students Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who helped the students participate and all those who donated! Thanks to your generosity, every student received at least 2 books to take home and keep. What a great way to go into spring break and celebrate reading! Pictured below are grades PreK-3, 4-6 to follow!









Acalympic teams competed very well in Linton today. JH got 5th place and Senior high 10th. I hope everyone enjoys their spring break!

Students in grades 4, 5, & 6 who are playing boys basketball this spring, practice will start Monday, March 24th, after school at City Hall in Underwood. Samuel Benson will be coaching the boys this spring, and he is very excited!
**Parents** We are asking your help on providing transportation to the away games with driving a minibus for the boys. Attached is the tentative schedule (I am working on moving one of the away games to a home game)

Congratulations to Noah on his performance with the JH All-State Band last weekend. It was a great concert. Thanks for representing Underwood!


Students in grades 5 & 6 who are playing girls volleyball.
Practice will begin Monday, March 24th after school. The girls will be playing with the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky girls. Whitney Jangula will be the coach from Underwood, providing transportation, and will be helping Kurt Ziebarth and Charlie Sparrow.

Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL from Wednesday, March 19, through Friday, March 21, for Spring Break. We hope you enjoy the break and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, March 24!


Our first Comet Connection Read event of Reading Month - great way to come together and do a little reading before spring break!











The Book Fair is up and running in the Library! It will be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences today, tomorrow until 3:30, and the week after spring break. Teacher wishlists are up this year for anyone who'd like to contribute to their classroom libraries! Thank you for your supporting our students in their reading adventures!

PreK-6th grade had their first Guest Reader of Reading Month today! Thank you to Cole Moderegger (and a few young salmon) from the Fish Hatchery for coming to visit with and read to us!





There is a signup sheet in the office for Driver's Education class that will be held this summer, June 23rd through the 27th in Max. Students must have completed 8th grade or turn 14 by the start of the class. The cost of the class is $150 and the deadline to sign up is April 1st.

Preschool had some high school helpers while checking out the Book Fair and making wish lists! :)





The Senior English class was lucky enough to enjoy holding a St. Patrick's Day themed Storytime with Seniors at the public library today!






There will be a short pep rally send off for the boys basketball team tomorrow in Turtle Lake @ 2:00 before the boys region championship game!

Our Scholastic Book Fair is set up in the Library and runs today through March 28th! It is open after school until 3:30, and will be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences next Monday (3/17) from 2:30-7:00. There are even more options through our online fair, which can be accessed through this link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/ups. Community members are welcome to check it out, as well! Elementary students fresh produce this week!


Preschooler's had a great time with their guest Miss Heather Chatham. They read a story together, learned about letter sounds and how they sound and look with their mouth. They even played a fun alphabet dinosaur game. We hope anyone with a child age 3-7 come back to the school tonight from 4:30-5:30 for a caregiver/child Mischievous Sound activity and prizes!
