The Junior and Kindergarten classes met their Comet Connection buddies today! In celebration of Johnny Appleseed Day, they worked together on a neat hanging apple craft.
Advanced Biology students finished their bone lab and compared the results of bones soaked in vinegar with those soaked in bleach. Some had predicted the results but were very surprised when they compared the bone marrow from each trial.
Juniors in chemistry were studying spectrums of salts when they burned. Several spectrums did not match the flame color.
7th graders in the Life Skills class enjoyed their Fun with Food Friday!Today they taste tested 3 different undefined brands of 6 different foods! They ranked them from worst to best! Surprisingly, name brand was not always their favorite! Next steps, price per serving and deciding if the cost of name brand is worth added expense!

UHS 8th grade took part in an Eco learning day at the Audubon Refuge yesterday. They spent the day learning about watersheds, wetlands, rangeland, soil, and woodlands. Thanks to the individuals who provided this opportunity to our students!
FACS class has been learning about stress management and decision making. They learned about how eating healthy can help manage stress! So today they got in the kitchens and made Açaí Bowls!
Yesterday was our 2nd Senior Stories visit with the English 12 class. We met a new senior and got to know even more about those we met last time.
Ms. Vaagene’s 8th grade History class got to plan and teach a lesson to Mrs. Pleinis’s 4th graders! Ask your kiddo what they learned about Federal, State, and City Government!!
Quiet Club started back up last week! This year, it is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00-8:25. Today's group enjoyed coloring and using the Sphero Indi robot cars.

7th grade students started their day warming up their brains building communication, teamwork , and problem solving skills! They love their activity days- that's for sure!
The English 12 class had their first Senior Stories time at the Underwood Senior Citizen Center yesterday. Everyone enjoyed visiting and getting to know each other a little bit. Thank you to the Senior Center for the social engagement opportunities between our youngest seniors and oldest seniors!
The first FFA event, a good old fashioned game of Dodgeball, was a success!
