Saturday's football playoff game will be in Elgin at 2:00 pm CST against Grant County/Flasher. Tickets will be available at the gate again for purchase, but can be purchased at a discount electronically through GoFan. Purchase information is on the attached flyer.

Pre-k through 3rd grade spent the last day before break working on the skills we have worked on in PE the last month. Ask your child how to throw, catch, dribble, punt, and use their hand-eye coordination skills!!










Central McLean will be hosting the playoff game against Beach on Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 in Turtle Lake. This is a NDHSAA sponsored event, and no CMC passes will be honored. Tickets can be purchased online at gofan.co, search "NDHSAA", and then select our game. Tickets can be purchased online for $5/student and $10/adult, there are no senior citizen rates available. If you want to pay for your entry at the gate with cash, the cost increases to $15/adult. Plan ahead and get your tickets at gofan.co! College Application Day is coming to Underwood on October 28th!! Seniors can apply to ND colleges, universities, and trade programs- including cosmetology, with help and will get a $35 application fee waiver! All they need to do is stop into Mrs. Heger's room, bring their computer and some basic info! For more information, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Katie Heger!


Congratulations Gracie! Gracie tested her final level of skating skills and passed with "distinction" She is officially a U.S. Figure Skating Gold member and earned a Gold Medal jacket! The commitment and hard work has taken you on a 5 year journey but your persistence has paid off! Way to go!

Eight students represented Underwood at this year's Surround the State in Song festival. They rehearsed and performed a concert at one of seven sites to literally surround the state in music. It was a great experience!



Social Media Safety Tips for Kids:
Social media helps people connect, learn, become engaged, and share information. But it also can affect children's mental health and safety. Here are a few steps families can take to keep their child safe on social media.

Early Out & Parent Teacher conferences!
School will be dismissed at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 14th for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Remember to sign up with your classroom teachers for conferences. They run from 1:30-7:30 pm. Call the school with any questions.
Seniors in Advanced Chemistry are making soap. They are studying the structure of lipids in the biochemistry unit.



Comet Connection paired the 9th graders and 3rd graders. The freshmen used their lab skills to demonstrate the gas laws by crushing pop cans using hot and cold water.








Congratulations to our first student to earn 100 Accelerated Reader points this year - way to go, Levi!

These students had a windy, but successful experience at the Concordia Choir Festival this weekend. They got to sing as part of a choir of approx. 500 students!


Congratulations to the following Underwood students selected by audition to participate in the Northwest Festival of Music at MSU! They will rehearse and perform with musicians from all over the state on Nov 1st and 2nd. Way to go!

The Senior English class did a Halloween storytime theme this month at Underwood Public Library. The kids enjoyed reading books together and making a candy corn craft. Next month's storytime will be held November 13th from 10:30-11:00.
