April 2022

April snow storms bring May flowers?  April was not exactly the "April showers bring May flowers" month that we are used to but I think the moisture from the April blizzard was welcomed by many.  It is also amazing how a 3 day blizzard can throw everyone's schedule off (why I am typing this in May!) even with the Easter Monday makeup day.  Sports, concerts, and many other activities were all thrown for a loop this past month.   A reason why most teachers try and get their core material in by April because you never know what each spring might bring.  What went on at UHS this April:

-Small group music was held on the 7th.

-Speech regionals were held on April 8th.  Bailey Backer and Gracie Fuentes will be represented UHS at the State competition which was held on April 23rd. Great job girls!

-UHS prom was held on April 9th.  Thanks to all those who helped chaperone and decorate!

-Students 7-12 took part in a presentation on internet safety on April 20th.  The 9-12 students also took part in the Alive at 25 course. Students will be eligible for an insurance discount from this course on distracted driving.

-7-12 music concert was held on April 21st.  Great job Mrs. Frank and 7-12 band choir students!

-The band trip to Nashville took place April 25th-29th.

-NDSA wrapped up this month

-Students are pre-registering for their 2022-2023 courses.

Parent Corner:  With the warmer weather finally setting in.  Please remember to have your son/daughter wear appropriate clothes to school.  I know styles are always changing but if your child wouldn't wear their outfit to a job etc.  They probably shouldn't wear it to school.

On a final note, we are almost to summer break!  Students and staff are very busy down the stretch which will make the time go by fast.  Good luck to the Cougar teams as we enter the home stretch of their seasons as well.
