March 2022

March is one of my favorite months of the school year.  There is always so much going on that everyone stays busy and active.  It is also nice that we are closer to warmer weather and eventually summer.  What "March madness" went on at UHS this month:

-UHS for hosted the entrepreneur expo on March 2nd. Thanks to those who helped judge and to those who awarded prizes.  We had multiple groups win prize money again this year.

-Boys basketball came to an end with a loss to Solen in the regional play-in game.

-JH boys basketball finished their season with a second place finish in their end of the year tournament.

-Large group music festival was held on March 8th.  Our students received a 1 rating.

-Juniors took their ACT test on March 9th

-Parent teacher conferences were held on Monday the 14th.

-Region 5 Acalympics were held in Linton on March 14th.  Senior high took 5th place and JH took 3rd place

-Spring Break was held March 16-18th

-Close-Up had their trip to Washington March 20th-25th

-FFA banquet was on March 24th.  Libby Heger will receive her State Proficiency award  in June at State Convention this year and Charlotte Wilson who placed Gold in Livestock judging will also be competing at state.

Other Activities held throughout this month include:

-Reading month activities

-NCAA mascot trivia

-”Know your staff trivia”

-class B boys and girls brackets.

Parent Corner:

Spring sports are here and students will enter one of the busiest times of the year.  Springs sports usually result in students being absent from part or all of the school day.  Parents please check with your child(rn ) and make sure they are staying up to date on their school work. It is not uncommon to see a drop in performance during this time of the year.  Make sure to utilize the powerschool app.  Parents can set alerts to be notified of missing school work or failing grades.
