February 2022

The shortest month of the year really caught up with me this year.  I am a few days late for this month's newsletter so I will keep it short and sweet.  What went on at UHS in February:

-Congratulations to Gracie Fuentes, Bailey Backer, and Hannah Backer who have all qualified for the state speech meet already! Way to go girls!

-Congratulations to the GBB team for their region 5 runner up finish this year! The JV and Varsity teams had only 5 losses combined this year!

-Boys basketball wrapped up their season with a loss to Solen in the play in game.

-Thanks to all the coaches, players, parents, and activity workers who make the basketball seasons so successful.

-Mrs. Nagle has the coffee cart up and running which is off to a good start.  Money will go towards the library fund.

-The juniors had their Valentine's day Fundraiser

-Students posted pictures/notes on our "kindness tree"

-There was no school on the 21st in honor of president's day.

Parent Corner:  It is common to see a slip in student performance during the last part of the school year.  Parents make sure that you are staying up to date with your child's grades/homework. Please utilize the powerschool app.  As we enter the spring season students will be very busy with track, baseball, softball, and golf.  These activities result in students being gone from school. Please remind your child to stay on top of their school work, and also meet with their teachers for extra help and instruction.
