January 2022

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the new year and the beginning of the second semester(minus the winter weather).  It is hard to believe that January has already come and gone and with that, one less month of winter.  What went on in January at UHS:

-Classes resumed Jan. 4th

-5-12th grade students attended a presentation by Hunter Pinke in TL on Jan. 6th

-There were no classes on Jan. 17th in honor of MLK day.

-10th grade took the PreACT test on the 27th

-Mason Skachenko, Molly Wilson, and Levi Repnow earned the highest scores on our spelling test and will be representing UHS at the McLean Co. JH spelling bee.

-BB, GBB, JHBB, and speech are well underway in their seasons.

-Congratulations to the dance team for earning 2nd place in Hip Hop, 2nd place in Jazz, and 3rd place in their Pom routine at the state dance competition in Grand Forks.

Parent Corner:  If the mid winter blues is catching up with you, here are a few ideas that can get you back on track:

1. Stay Active (exercise)

2. Get Outside (even if it is cold out)

3. Eat Healthy

4. Start a new hobby

5. Visit family and friends

6. Stop complaining about the weather (This is the hardest for me!)

7. Light/Vitamin D

I hope everyone is staying warm and looking forward to another new month for this school year!
