The Cougars lost in a nail biter homecoming night falling to Towner-Granville-Upham with a final score of 42-40. Penalties and mental mistakes were to blame as they have been all year. The Cougars committed 13 penalties throughout the game. “Not inexperience, but lack of focus was our main problem in my opinion,” said Co-Coach John Jangula. It was a back and forth battle throughout the entire game, but it was TGU who out executed in the fourth quarter and came away with the victory.
Even though they lost, the Cougars were not only effective from the ground, but also the air for a total of 406 scrimmage yards. Senior quarterback Gunner Jacobs threw for 244 yards, 116 of those yards to fellow senior Allen Ketterling. Easton Frey ran for 147 yards along with 3 touchdowns.
After splitting the last two games, the Cougars host Parshall next week in Underwood.
